Heading East
For those of you that have been keeping tabs on me for a while, you know that I tour around the south a couple of times a year. It’s always an incredibly refreshing, recharging, and fun experience. I usually try to bring another musician along for the ride– in years past Peter Dawson, Josh Grider, Adam Hood, and Rodney Hayden have all come with me.
This year, my friend Austin Collins will be braving the Eastern Seaboard in December with me. Austin is a very talented singer and songwriter, and we’ve always shared a certain knack for the same brand of ridiculous humor. Over the years, I’ve learned that a sense of humor is one of the most important elements that makes a tour like this enjoyable… so I’m expecting it to be a good time.
For those of you that are aren’t familiar with Austin’s music, check out his website here.
As for the tour- we’ve worked out the following dates for your listening pleasure:
December 3rd- The White Elephant Saloon- Fort Worth, Texas
December 4th- Private Party- Jackson, Mississippi
December 5th- Parrish Baker’s Pub- Oxford, Mississippi
December 6th- OPEN
December 7th- Bread Coffee House- Atlanta, Georgia
December 8th- The Hummingbird- Macon, Georgia
December 9th- OPEN
December 10th- Private- Charleston, South Carolina
December 11th- The Oxford- Raleigh, North Carolina
December 12th- Poe’s Pub- Richmond, Virginia
As you can see, there are two “Open” dates on the calendar– if you’re interested in hosting a house concert with the two of us, or if you know of a venue that might be interested in having us on either of those two days, shoot an email to info@drewkennedymusic.com and we’ll see what we can come up with.
Otherwise, I hope to see many familiar faces, as well as a bunch of new ones out there on the road.
